Shrewsbury & Shropshire
Natural family sessions in Shrewsbury — Quarry Park, the River Severn, and the Shropshire Hills.
Shrewsbury Family Photography
Shrewsbury is one of England's finest medieval towns — its Elizabethan black-and-white buildings, pink sandstone castle, and the beautiful curl of the River Severn make it an outstanding city for family portraits. And within 30 minutes, the Long Mynd's open moorland and the quiet valley of Church Stretton offer something wilder and even more dramatic.
I work in a relaxed, documentary way — walking with your family through one of these extraordinary settings, capturing the genuine moments as they happen. No posed lineups, no uncomfortable instructions. Just your family in a beautiful place.

Locations
Quarry Park, Shrewsbury
The stunning riverside park at the heart of Shrewsbury — formal gardens, open riverside meadow, and the wide curve of the Severn create layered, beautiful settings for family portraits.
The River Severn Loop
Shrewsbury sits inside a dramatic meander of the River Severn — the riverbanks, weeping willows, and reflections create beautiful, characterful locations throughout the town.
Shrewsbury Castle & Town Centre
The pink sandstone castle and the medieval black-and-white timbered town centre offer historic character unlike anywhere else in the Midlands.
Long Mynd, Church Stretton
The dramatic moorland plateau of the Long Mynd — open, exposed hilltops with sweeping views across Shropshire to Wales. Outstanding for families who love wide open landscapes.
Attingham Park (National Trust)
A grand Regency mansion with beautiful deer-filled parkland — one of Shropshire's finest estates, just 4 miles from Shrewsbury town centre.
Haughmond Hill
A peaceful hill east of Shrewsbury with open views, woodland, and the ruins of Haughmond Abbey — a quiet, beautiful location well away from visitor crowds.
Quarry Park is my first choice for ease and beauty within the town. For something more dramatic, the Long Mynd near Church Stretton is extraordinary — wide open moorland with the whole of Shropshire spread below. Attingham Park is excellent for families wanting a classic estate backdrop.
Yes — I love Long Mynd and Wenlock Edge sessions. This extended session adds something genuinely special — a reminder that Shropshire may be England's least-known Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. It's included in the Extended Session package.
Yes — I cover Telford, Newport, Oswestry, Ludlow, and the wider Shropshire county. A travel supplement applies for locations beyond 30 miles from base.
The Long Mynd is spectacular in August when the heather blooms purple, and again in autumn. Quarry Park is beautiful in spring and summer. Attingham Park is excellent in all seasons.
Yes — dogs are welcome at all listed locations. The Long Mynd is particularly wonderful for dogs and active families.
